A Tastes of Geelong Event

A Tastes of Geelong event, join us at Waurn Ponds Estate for an evening of Gin, Jazz & Shiraz. Enjoy a stylish lounge bar vibe over an evening of cool jazz, warm welcome and delicious food and beverage featuring Greater Geelong producers.

Delicious food

A flowing tasting menu from Head Chef Damian Beggs will be served, focusing on the best of Greater Geelong’s regional produce. Shiraz and gin will be highlighted as ingredients, and paired with Anther Gin and Oakdene Shiraz tastings.

Gin & Shiraz

Oakdene and Anther Ambassadors will share their passion and knowledge between jazz sets, making this event a delightful evening of tasting, learning and relaxing in Greater Geelong style.

Jazz

Live jazz music will be performed by Orlando Combo, playing sophisticated Swing & Lounge from ‘The Jazz Age’, old school Rhythm & Blues, retro Rock & Roll party starters from the 50’s & 60’s and dance floor Soul & Motown classics.

TO START

A rustic assortment of artisan breads, served with locally crafted pickles and a sample of Cobram Estate extra virgin olive oil

SEAFOOD TASTING PLATE

Freshly shucked Pacific oyster, finished with a shallot and gin mignonette

Seared ahi tuna, encrusted with almond and sesame, served alongside a bold soy and ginger dipping sauce

CAULIFLOWER BITES

Encrusted with parmesan and jalapeno, finished with queso and Pico de Galo

SHIRAZ & MIREPOIX SOUS VIDE BEEF CHEEK

Served with a garden medley of heirloom carrots, earthy baby beets and freekeh

CAPRESE SALAD

Creamy burrata cheese, paired with ripe tomatoes, Estate basil and finished with a fragrant gin and white balsamic glaze

CHARGRILLED OTWAY PORK TENDERLOIN

Glazed with a rich shiraz reduction, served atop silky celeriac puree and accompanied by sweetly caramelized red cabbage

TO FINISH

A selection of local cheese, paired with house made petit fours, including chocolate ganache bites, citrus glazed madeleines and Italian meringue tarts
