Waurn Ponds Estate is a contemporary conference venue in Geelong, ideal for conferences, meetings, training days and corporate events of all sizes. Located within Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus, the Estate offers a tranquil setting with modern facilities and easy access to Geelong and the surrounding region.
With eight conference spaces, the latest AV technology, on-site accommodation and in-house catering, the Estate is a premier Geelong conference centre. We can assist with all conference enquiries, from small meetings to large, multi-day retreats.

Our Geelong conference venue’s AV equipment is tailored to provide a seamless user experience and enhance your conference.
Our meeting rooms feature one-touch operation, allowing you to plug your laptop directly into our extra-large screens.
Cameras are built in both at the front and rear of the rooms for ease of Zoom meetings, and recording capabilities and hearing loop devices are available.
Along with the cutting-edge technology provided, your conference can be supported by our campus IT specialists, available to hire.
Delicious conference catering
Conference catering at Waurn Ponds Estate is designed to nourish and sustain delegates throughout the day.
Exciting and flavourful food is part of what we do at the Estate. Our dishes are created using seasonal ingredients and produce from our kitchen garden.
Our menus promote interaction among delegates, either via our Premium package lunch, served grazing-style, or our Deluxe package lunch, served seated.
Great coffee is essential, and our packages feature one-touch espresso coffee and Love Tea available all day.
Conference accommodation
For multi-day conferences and events, delegates can unwind and relax when they stay at the Estate’s on-site accommodation.
Our 60 contemporary guest rooms offer views overlooking the Estate’s grounds, landscaped gardens or infinity pool.
Each room features a spacious king-size bed, a modern ensuite bathroom, contemporary furnishings, plush bedding, tea and coffee-making facilities, a desk, a TV, and O&M products.
Breakfast can be added to your booking, and most of our rooms can be effortlessly transformed into twin-share.
Suites and accessible rooms are also available.

How many conference rooms does the Estate have?
The Estate has eight different conference rooms, in addition to a variety of public spaces that can be utilised for less formal discussions and meetings.
Crafted to exceptional standards, our conference rooms are thoughtfully designed, ensuring an ideal backdrop for your upcoming conference.
The smaller meeting rooms can accommodate up to 10 people, while our largest conference space can hold 154 delegates.
Can we use the outdoor spaces for team building activities?
Absolutely. We encourage our groups to use the Estate to its full potential, and our large lawn, rolling hills, tennis courts, and walking track work perfectly for team-building activities.

What conference technology is available at the Estate?
Our AV equipment features one-touch operation, allowing you full access from your own laptop.
The Estate’s conference rooms also have an extra-large projector screen, a lectern with a microphone, and handheld, lapel, and table microphones.
The spaces have built-in cameras at both the front and rear of the rooms for ease of use during Zoom meetings, and we have recording capabilities and hearing loop devices available.
Free wi-fi is available throughout the Estate.
Does the Estate have conference accommodation?
Yes, Waurn Ponds Estate has 60 accommodation rooms that can host up to 120 guests when twinned or shared. These include two suites and three accessible rooms.
Each of our rooms features a king-size bed, modern ensuites, tea and coffee-making facilities, a TV, a desk, O&M products, and gorgeous views.

Does Waurn Ponds Estate have break out rooms?
The Estate’s six smaller meeting rooms, located amongst the accommodation wings, offer excellent breakout rooms with full AV facilities.
The design of the Estate’s common areas, event spaces and grounds encourages informal breakout sessions. Small groups can find a quiet spot in the lounges, quiet seating corners, available event spaces, or the garden to brainstorm, discuss ideas, reflect, or plan.
Does the Estate offer conference catering?
We offer full-day conference catering at Waurn Ponds Estate, with a range of packages available to suit your needs. All options include all-day espresso coffee and tea.
Our Premium conference packages follow a more traditional conference format, with salads and filled sandwiches laid out in a grazing style to encourage interaction between guests.
Our Deluxe conference packages include a unique take on a conference lunch: salads and side dishes, with a hot main selection served sharing-style for a more formal, seated experience.
The Estate can also host corporate dinners, lunches and other events, such as cocktail parties, morning or afternoon teas and more.

Can I host a conference at the Estate if I am not associated with Deakin?
Yes, of course. Waurn Ponds Estate offers conferences, events and corporate accommodation to everyone. You do not have to be associated with Deakin to make a booking with us.

Yes, the Estate has 4 accessible conference rooms.
No stairs are required to access our Torquay, Anglesea, Bellbrae and Ceres rooms.
