Our two exquisite suites offer the perfect space and light for the wedding party, makeup artists, and hair stylists to prepare for your ceremony. The Estate’s stunning natural surroundings and dramatic architectural features create a perfect backdrop for bridal party photos and an unforgettable “first look.”
The Estate’s professional in-house kitchen team also offer exclusive catering services for your bridal party as you prepare for your ceremony, along with stylish options for pre or post wedding events.
Co-ordination of transfers to and from your wedding venue ensures your guests experience is smooth and convenient from start to finish.

Accommodation
Each of the Estate’s 60 rooms features a spacious king-sized bed, sleek ensuite bathroom, crisp white linens, tea and coffee-making facilities, and luxury bath products. The two elegant suites, with ample space for bridal parties, offer the perfect setting to prepare for your special day.
Most rooms can be configured into twin-share accommodation, providing flexibility to suit your friends and family’s needs. For those requiring specialised access, we also offer three stylish and functional accessible rooms.
Amenities
Your guests will enjoy extending their reunion with family and friends around the Estate’s outdoor swimming pool and heated spa, unwinding in the lounge with a game of pool, or taking advantage of the tennis courts, gym and scenic walking tracks, all making their extended Geelong wedding escape relaxing and rewarding. Complimentary parking and WiFi are available throughout the Estate.

Pre-wedding dinner
Why not begin the festivities early with a pre-wedding welcome dinner? Available on Friday and Saturday evenings, indulge in precious extra time with your friends or family who have travelled for your special day, and make your wedding a full weekend event.
Wedding party preparations
Our talented chefs are available to craft grazing boards, feasting boxes or canapés to be enjoyed by your wedding party as you prepare in the suites.
We can arrange a custom quote based upon your vision.
Post-wedding brunch
Ease into post-wedding bliss with your personalized Post Wedding Brunch event, hosted at Waurn Ponds Estate on Saturdays or Sundays. A luxurious two-hour brunch service (at your preferred time between 8 am and 12 noon), is the perfect way to gather with loved ones and relive the joy of your special day before guests depart Geelong.
Bar and restaurant
On the day of your wedding, our bar can be open upon prior request from midday until 30 minutes before your ceremony. Guests are welcome to order from our Express Dining menu and enjoy lunch and refreshments either at the Bar or on the Terrace.
In-room hampers
Make your guests’ stay even more special by adding a hamper to their room booking. These curated hampers will be ready upon their arrival, offering the perfect pre-wedding snack or a treat to enjoy when they return. Speak with our team to place a hamper order. Custom hampers are available.

Our setting
Just minutes from venues like Mt Duneed Estate and Nicol’s Paddock, Waurn Ponds Estate couldn’t be more perfectly placed to host your guests and cap off a truly memorable occasion. Nestled in expansive grounds, the buildings architectural features, kitchen garden, infinity pool, expansive green and lakes are all ideal backdrops for bridal party photos or a “first look”.
How to find us
We are located on Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus.
From Pigdons Road, enter Alfred Deakin Drive (Entrance 1) and turn left onto Nicol Drive South. Follow this road and then turn right at our sign which says Waurn Ponds Estate.
Transfers
Bus transfers to and from wedding venues in the area are available. Starting from $900 return for the evening (1 x 57-seater coach).
Helpful information
How many guests can the Estate accommodate?
We have 60 rooms at the Estate, including two suites and three accessible rooms.
For those seeking twin share accommodation, 57 of our rooms can be effortlessly transformed into two single beds, providing flexible arrangements to suit your needs.
We also have three accessible rooms.
We can sleep up to 120 guests when rooms are twinned or shared.
In room amenities
All of our rooms have modern ensuite bathrooms with large walk in showers and Kevin Murphy products.
Our accessible rooms have accessible bathrooms.
Rooms also feature king size beds, plush bedding, TVs, desks, tea and coffee making facilities, air con / heating and views of our Estate grounds, pool or lakes.
Our two suites include double bathrooms, sitting areas and outdoor terraces.
Are children welcome at the Estate?
Children are welcome for Weekends at Waurn Ponds Estate. We do not have rollaway beds or cots available, however you are welcome to request adjoining rooms.

Check in and check out times
Early check in of 12 noon can often be offered, however is dependant on availability at time of booking. Otherwise, 2pm is our guaranteed check in time.
Late check out of 12 noon is available on Saturday and Sunday. Check out is 10am all other days.
Should the couple be getting ready onsite and require early access, accommodation will need to be booked the night prior.
Wedding accommodation availability
Wedding accommodation is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. If you can’t find the dates you are after available online, please get in touch with our friendly team for assistance.
An accommodation block can be placed on hold exclusively for your guests. Please speak with one of our team who can provide information for you to share with your guests. Any rooms not booked by 30 days prior to the wedding date will be released back into the general inventory.
Pre and post wedding event availability
Pre and post wedding event bookings are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
A minimum of 50 guests is required per booking
Final numbers & payment is required 14 days prior to the event
A deposit of 30% of estimated pre and/or post wedding bookings is required at time of booking. Adjustments allowed until 14 days prior to wedding date at which time full final account is payable.
If your post-wedding morning falls on a Monday, our regular buffet breakfast is available
Does the Estate offer room service?
While the Estate doesn’t offer traditional room service, we do have a range of hampers, platters, drinks and snacks you can purchase at reception to have delivered to your room.

Please note that no food or beverages will be available for purchase upon returning to the Estate after the wedding reception.
You are welcome to utilise one of the many food delivery options in the area.
The Estate's facilities
