Only 5 minutes from Waurn Ponds Estate, Nicol’s Paddock is a small, family run Winery & Restaurant on the outskirts of Geelong. We had a chat with Katherine Anderson, General Manager at Nicol’s Paddock to find out what is at the heart of this treasured secret.
What do you love about locally sourcing your ingredients?
We have some amazing produce being grown and made in our region, plus we get to support other local businesses.
What is your philosophy behind shared dining at Nicol’s Paddock?
We believe experiences are best shared with others, and that includes the food we eat.
What makes Nicol’s Paddock such a unique venue?
Our intimate space among the vines, our seasonal menu & boutique wines.
What is your most recommended drop? What dish is best served with this drop?
Our current favourite is our Shiraz, perfect by the fire with anything slow cooked.
What made you decide to re-brand and change your name?
We wanted our name to reflect our focus on local & sustainability, as well as our family. Nicol’s Paddock seemed like the perfect choice for us.
Is sustainability something important to you as a business? What sustainability measures do you take at Nicol’s Paddock
Sustainability is definitely something that is important to us. We use local suppliers, so the products are traveling less distance. We also use low packaging, reusable containers & wholefoods for our vegetables & dry goods.
