Events at the Pantry

Waterfront Pantry is the ideal space to hold your next corporate event or celebration. Whether it be a cocktail party with drinks on the terrace, a large sit-down banquet or even a wedding, our team can assist you with any request.

The Pantry can host up to 300 for cocktail functions and 200 guests for banquets, with additional venue spaces available within our building.

Conferences

Our team specialise in delivering multi-day conferences, and can assist you with the planning process, ensuring a seamless event.

We have a large variety of venues within Waterfront campus to accommodate conferences of any size.

The Pantry’s conference packages are plentiful and delicious, with a range of options available, including our signature, wholesome bowls. Our menus are designed to accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements.

Together with our sister venue, Waurn Ponds Estate, we can assist you with multi-venue corporate events, residential conferences and accommodation packages.

The Estate includes 60 elegant accommodation rooms with king size beds, modern ensuites and tranquil views.

Nestled amongst expansive grounds, the Estate also features an outdoor pool, gym, tennis courts and walking track, for a true escape from distractions.

Is Waterfront Pantry an events venue?

Yes, Waterfront Pantry is a cafe and venue. Our cafe is open 8am – 4pm Monday to Wednesday, and 8am – 6pm Thursdays & Fridays.
Outside of these hours, we are available for event bookings.

Waterfront Pantry is located within Deakin’s Waterfront campus. There is a large range of additional venue spaces within Waterfront campus that we can assist you with for venues and events.

Can I hold my conference at Waterfront Pantry?

The Pantry team can assist you with securing a suitable venue within Waterfront campus for your conference or meeting.
We have a range of venue spaces available for groups of any size. From small meeting rooms within the Geelong Corporate Centre, to Geelong’s largest performing arts centre, Costa Hall. Close to the Pantry, Costa Hall has capacity for up to 1,400 delegates and break out rooms.
Our team can assist you with planning your conference, including everything from venue hire and catering to AV.

Can I provide my own catering for my event at Waterfront Pantry?

As Waterfront Pantry is a cafe and venue, we do not allow external catering for events held within the Pantry space.
Our team would be more than happy to work with you to provide you with a tailored catering menu to suit your needs.

Is there parking available at Waterfront Pantry?

Yes, the Pantry has parking available in a nearby Deakin multi-level carpark.
This is available for our cafe, conference and event guests.

What kind of event can I hold at the Pantry?

Waterfront Pantry has the capacity to host 300 guests cocktail or 200 seated, plus our outdoor terrace space.
It is a great venue for cocktail parties, banquet dinners, galas, corporate functions and weddings.
As the Pantry is split across two levels, smaller events can be held just using the lower space.
In the past we have hosted yoga & wine nights, after 5 networking events, banquet dinners and more.

What kind of conference catering does Waterfront Pantry offer?

Our conference packages include fresh and inviting salads and sandwiches, tasty bites for tea breaks and great tea and coffee.
We have two ranges of conference packages available. Our Standard conference package offers a more traditional conference lunch, with sandwiches or rolls and salads.
Our Premium package offers a more unique take on a conference lunch, with individually plated, wholesome bowls, served alongside a salad to share.
We also have plenty of optional additions you can choose to include in your package, like a little sweet treat at lunch time or some platters.

Can I have my wedding at Waterfront Pantry?

Yes of course, we would be delighted to assist you with your wedding.
Along with the Pantry being a gorgeous wedding reception venue, we have additional event spaces available (such as our John Hay Courtyard or Gallery) if you would also like to hold your ceremony on site.
The lower level of the Pantry is perfect for hosting large cocktail parties or banquets for your wedding reception; while the upper level, which also houses our bar, makes the ideal dance floor!

Is wi-fi available at Waterfront Pantry?

Waterfront Pantry has free wi-fi available for cafe, conference and event guests.
